About the Executive Director
Shallegra Moye has over two decades of education experience, which includes classroom teaching, community school site manager, and multi-term Parent Teacher Organization leadership. Currently, she is the Community Lead of the 3R's (racial equity, reading, and relationships) early school-age and childhood project of The Pittsburgh Study.
Shallegra has also been a parent leader and educational advocate within the public school system since 1999. She has developed and implemented equity projects for the Annenberg Institute for School Reform, 50CAN (Campaign for Achievement Now) and local school districts. Her love of learning and sharing enables Shallegra to help other professionals and organizations increase their impact through development and training. She has presented at multiple conferences, regularly serves as a panel expert, and as an advisory board member to other community-based organizations and educational improvement initiatives.
Shallegra Moye holds a Bachelor’s of Art in Communication for Social Change from Carlow University and a Master’s in Public Health from Capella University. Shallegra is a graduate of the School of Education at the University of Pittsburgh, where she earned an education doctorate in Administrative and Policy Studies in Urban Education. She holds certifications in trauma-informed practice, mediation, facilitating anti-oppression dialogue from National Conference for Community and Justice, and is licensed in restorative practices through the International Institute of Restorative Practices.
